Our dedicated team

Meet the certified educators ready to assist you in your journey.

Dr. Jim Christensen

Executive Director

Jim has been a visionary educator for over 30 years. As a math teacher, principal, superintendent and now Teachworthy Executive Director, Jim knows what it takes to get the best out of students of all backgrounds and to prepare educators for the classroom. His passion for excellence shows in all his efforts.

Dr. Rae Queen

Program Director

Rae began her career serving the special education needs of elementary age students. Her heart for teachers led her to develop one of the first ever private teacher certification programs in Texas. Eventually relocating to the San Antonio area, Rae and her husband, Collen, grew what would be the predecessor to Teachworthy. You can always find Rae actively guiding new teachers to be their best.

Collen Queen

Certification Officer

Collen joined Rae in Teacher Certification after having taught Biology and becoming a Physical Therapist for several years. Seeing the need to better prepare new teachers to enter the classroom moved him to come back to education. He’s also an incredible cook with a taste for BBQ.

Monica Mariott

Senior Program Advisor

Monica taught at the secondary level for many years before pausing to raise her family. Wanting to get back to serving teachers, she joined Rae and Collen. Happily married for over 28 years to her friend from first grade, anyone that visits with Monica will see how being a cheerleader for 11 years translates to her cheering on new teachers.

Carol Maki

Senior Program Advisor

Carol was a secondary teacher and reading specialist for many years. She has served in almost all campus roles being a team leader, department coordinator and summer school principal, dyslexia specialist and TELPAS testing coordinator. She enjoys traveling, especially trips to the beach and most of all spending time with her family and two precious granddaughters.

Dr. Debbie Dunlap

Senior Program Advisor

Serving the Houston area with Teachworthy, Debbie is a life-long educator and served as a teacher and principal for 27 years before investing the second half of her career preparing new teachers to enter the classroom successfully. She’s a pro at implementing strategies that help at-risk children succeed. Married to her high school sweetheart, Russell, she has two grown daughters and six grandchildren.

Lynn Marshall

Senior Program Advisor

Lynn has invested his career in the development of educators. Starting as a classroom teacher and eventually becoming a high school principal, Lynn transitioned to Teachworthy’s predecessor to continue to make an impact on education by training, coaching and mentoring new teachers.

Tania Williams

Program Advisor

After 13 years in the finance industry, Tania began working in education in 2009 for the Fort Bend Independent School District. She served at an elementary campus where she knew every student by name and participated in a mentoring program for young ladies. In 2014, she joined Teachworthy’s predecessor and has enjoyed learning from this talented group of educators.

Kathleen Anzak

Program Advisor

Kathleen has a master’s degree in education and has been an educator for over 20 years in many settings from teaching English and ESL in middle school and high school to training teachers in San Antonio, around the country, and abroad.
